Case study Pernod Ricard Australia: sparkling hood for Jacob’s Creek ‘Brut Cuvée – Limited Edition’
A Colourful Triumph for one of Australia’s Largest Wine Brands
Collaboration from the team at Enoplastic AUS is the core foundation behind the success. This project could not have advanced without the assistance from the sales, printing, forming and the maintenance teams!
A brief background story. Pernod Ricard Winemakers had a vision of digital hoods; bright and colourful. Digital printed samples were sent to the customer and their vision had begun. With artwork complete, further enquiries were made and the conclusion was that the requested quantities (700,000 capsules) were not suitable for the digital printing process.
Enoplastic AUS Customer Service Manager, Mark Davies, found himself in a situation where he had to think outside the box as one of Australia’s largest customers waited for an update. After a conversation with the printers regarding a modified design similar to the digital design, the printers advised they would require an automated register system and the maintenance team jumped aboard the project.
Design adjustments were made to suit to the rotogravure printing process where it was discovered that all 6 printing units would be utilised. The design also incorporated gold foil embellishments to complete the finished, luxurious look. With the updated artwork and colour proofs signed, the entire Enoplastic AUS team were incredibly anxious and excited to see this project come to life.
These sparkling hoods were formed using the only Todeschini machine in Australia, an innovative machine allowing Enoplastic AUS to produce Sommelier tear tabs. The outcome? A striking, desirable sparkling hood with an extremely happy customer! Mark and team are thrilled to see Jacob’s Creek ‘Brut Cuvee Limited Edition’ available on the shelves ready for the Summer ahead. An optimal time to reflect on the past four months, Mark saying, “I feel all the preparation here internally, discussions etc. made such a challenging project possible. It was a long and drawn out process, but I feel the final product speaks for itself and I’m really proud of what we have achieved as a team”.
We look forward to working with Pernod Ricard Winemakers and all our customers with future projects.
